Transporting and operating advanced medical technology presented Sightpath's independent operators with a number of weight, space, maintenance, usability, and safety challenges.
After an extensive review of available options, the Ford Transit was chosen for its drivability, weight, load security, reliability, and ability to accommodate an approved lift system, making it an efficient ophthalmic fleet solution. By keeping the GVW under 10,000 pounds, we eliminated weigh station stops and reduced operator licensing requirements. By reducing the types of vehicles in the Sightpath fleet, we improved safety and made loading and unloading easy and efficient.
